Tough Hands, Fine Lines

The Foundations History The Team Giving Back

THE FOUNDATIONS

1. Openness and Transparency

We’re committed to making the construction process as open and communicative as possible. Weekly progress reports and constant access to a full-time project supervisor mean you’re always in the loop about how your home is taking shape.

2. Financial Clarity

We only utilize a fully transparent schedule of values. That means you can track where and when your investment is being spent. We don’t just say we’re honest - we let you see for yourself.

3. We Only Work With the Best

The complex projects we undertake often involve input from several different consultants and experts. We believe each project is only as strong as its weakest member, which is why we only work with partners who have proven their excellence over many years.

4. A Creative Edge

We’re not just builders. Our leadership team has a strong background in design and architecture, and we bring a creative approach to every project. Sure, we’ll do all the heavy lifting you need, but we’ll also help you conceptualize and design your project to its fullest potential.

Fourth Generation Builder

Pancho Dewhurst joined GDC Construction in 2001, founded by George Dewhurst in 1999, to continue the tradition of building custom homes in La Jolla and throughout San Diego County. Pancho and his father are the 3rd and 4th generation of Dewhurst builders in La Jolla.

Giving Back to Our Roots

We pioneered the idea of building granite memorials surrounding the Soledad Cross at the heart of La Jolla.
We donated our time to completely remodel and refurbish La Jolla’s dilapidated Station 13 firehouse.
To give back to the community, we worked on an extensive remodel of the La Jolla Community Center.
We donated our time and materials to install a new flagpole at Jolla High School.
George Dewhurst planted the original La Jolla Christmas tree in 1983, and GDC has decorated it every year since.
